I'm thrilled that you are checking out my website, Simon's Granddaughter. It holds a special place in my heart; the concepts of all of my "upcycled vintage creations" are inspired by my late grandfather, Navy Pilot Captain Simon Kralik. He had a knack for collecting anything and everything while traveling and flying around the world.
Taking his lead, I started to collect unique vintage bone china, porcelain, pressed glass, tea cups and candlesticks from my travels around the country. One day I realized my collection was getting a little excessive and not being displayed properly for others to enjoy. That's when I came up with the idea of making these "upcycled creations" as gifts for friends & family. Now I'm always looking for ways to reuse and re-purpose my Vintage Finds.
In 2012, I decided to take my after work & weekend hobby to the next level. I started a new adventure, selling my designs at local Craft Shows in the Pittsburgh area. Things took off and more ideas began to develop... custom creations for wedding, bridal, & baby showers are among my most popular requests.
All of the Vintage Treasures in my smoke-free shop are cleaned and sanitized before listing. The stands are food safe and hand washable only, text plates are for decoration only and should not be used for food or cleaned with water. Local pick-up is preferable but shipping is available. I'm happy to talk about special requests (colors/themes), ideas, and thoughts. If you have any questions whatsoever, please never hesitate to contact me.
Thanks for stopping by and please visit again soon!
